Privacy policy

This website, katecsak.com, is operated by Kathleen Csak (Kate Csák Fine Art), based in Canada. I take your privacy seriously and collect only what I need to respond to you and run this small studio.

What I collect

When you send an inquiry, I receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, country and what you tell me about your portrait. I use this only to reply to you and, if we work together, to complete your commission.

When you sign up for studio notes, I receive your email address and, if you share it, your first name. I use this only to send occasional studio news. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can also ask me to remove you at any time.

When you browse the site, basic technical information (such as browser type and the pages visited) may be collected by my hosting provider to keep the site secure.

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it, such as which pages are viewed and whether the inquiry form is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your approximate location, device and browser. It doesn't tell me who you are, and I never send it your name, email or anything you write in a form. You can opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Advertising. This site uses the Meta (Facebook) pixel so I can measure my ads on Facebook and Instagram and show them to people who have visited. It uses cookies and tells Meta which pages you viewed and whether you sent an inquiry or joined my studio notes. It never sends your name, email, anything you write, or whether a portrait is in memory of someone. You can manage this in your Facebook ad settings or by blocking cookies. Meta's privacy policy.

How your information is handled

I never sell or rent your information. Inquiries and mailing list sign-ups are processed by trusted service providers that store data on my behalf, which may be located in Canada, the United States or elsewhere. Your information is shared only as needed to run the site, deliver your artwork (for example, with a shipping carrier), or where required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, or withdraw your consent to receive email, at any time. Depending on where you live (for example in Canada under PIPEDA, or in the EU/UK under GDPR), you may have additional rights, and I'll honor them.
